The play Amadeus by Peter Shaffer will be presented by the Inland Valley Repertory Theatre company at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont October 26 - November 9.

The production is directed by Gary Krinke with costumes by Fullerton Civic Light Opera Company. Featured in the production are: Ron Hastings as Antonio Salieri, Tyler McGraw as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Tasha Tormey as Constance Weber. Others in the cast are Kevin Manalang (Count Johan), Bryan "BJ" Brophy (Count Franz), Hugh Kinslow (Emperor), Craig Jackman (Baron), Dani Bastamante, Eleanor Hastings, Darian Binkley, Michelle Knight Reinhardt, Stacy Hanson, Cindy Smith, Erin Reeves, Andrew Flory, Thomas Cole and Vince Polito.

Prior to performances, audience members will be treated to music by local musicians. IVRT received a grant last summer from the LA County Board of Supervisors to hire a full time Audience Development intern, Tamika Adams, who helped coordinate the preshow music experience.

"To demonstrate the vast influence of classical music and the widespread diversity musical influence has in many cultures, IVRT's Amadeus performances will showcase musical artists in mini concerts," said Adams.

About the Play: Amadeus

Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Play

As described by the publisher, "this provocative work weaves a confrontation between mediocrity and genius into a tale of breathtaking dramatic power. In the court of the Austrian Emperor Josef, Antonio Salieri is the established composer. Enter the greatest musical genius of all time: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salieri has given himself to God so that he might realize his sole ambition to be a great composer. Mozart is a portrayed as a foul-mouthed, graceless oaf who has that which is beyond Salieri's envious grasp: genius."

"Amadeus is a theatrical event that engages the audience with dramatic flair," says IVRT Artistic Director, Frank Minano. "With lavish costumes and a direction by seasoned veteran Gary Krinke, it is a production not to be missed."

Amadeus is presented by the Inland Valley Repertory Theatre company at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont. Tues and Weds. Oct 26- Nov. 9 at 7:30 PM plus a matinee at 2:30 on Nov. 9. Tickets are $27.95 (show only). To purchase tickets, visit www.ivrt.org or call 909/859-4878.
