Fundraising Campaign To Save Josefina Lopez's CASA 0101 Theater Has Reached About A Third Of Its Financial Goal Josefina López, Founding Artistic Director of CASA 0101 Theater in Boyle Heights, CA announced today that CASA 0101 Theater has reached about a third of its current Fundraising Campaign to keep the theater's doors open. "We're about a third of the way there. To date, we have secured 102 financial donors of our targeted goal of 350 donors we are seeking to support us by June 2018, so we can continue to keep our theater's doors open by presenting quality productions and supporting our local community through education. Each of our secured donors is pledging $25 a month on an ongoing annual basis to support CASA 0101. If you believe in what we are doing, please support us now."

Emmanuel Deleage, Executive Director of CASA 0101 Theater, added: "It's very easy to sign up on our website, http://www.casa0101.org/support-us. Once we have reached our quota of 350 donors, this will insure our theater's financial stability in the years that lie ahead." Currently playing on CASA 0101 Theater's Main Stage is the critically acclaimed production of "Brown & Out IV," A Play Festival of 10 World Premiere Short Plays Celebrating the LGBTQ+ Latinxperience. Hoy newspaper has written: "'Brown & Out' is...always entertaining...When Boyz Cry, the penultimate segment, (is)...the funniest of all....Written by Abel Alvarado and directed by Claudia Durán, When Boyz Cry shows five gay friends in their '30s...the chemistry between the performers is remarkable....Another striking piece...is Angelito. written by Gilbert Salazar and directed by Rigo Tejeda. We cannot leave aside the works entrusted to Corky Domínguez, who has collaborated with the founder of CASA 0101 (Josefina López) for more than two decades....Domínguez voluntarily faced Young Dudes, a piece of his authorship that is based on a personal experience...." www.stageraw.com wrote: "...the overall entertainment quotient is very high...the plays are enlightening or amusing...there is much good work by all. Particularly noteworthy is Giovanni Navarro both as a seductive barber and as a gay man whose lover (Karlo Ishibashi) is a guilt-ridden Jehovah's Witness. The set design by César Retina-Holguín relies on a handsome set of moving, Mondrian-like panels."
