Found Theatre to Present THE FOLK FESTIVAL THAT CHANGED AMERICA, 7/25

By:

The Found Theatre and musician/music historian Ross Altman are proud to present a 50th Anniversary commemoration of the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, which has gone down in history as the moment when Bob Dylan went electric, practically got booed off the stage, but gave birth to the folk rock movement. Altman and a slate of musicians that includes Susie Glaze, Jill Fenimore, John Keller, Tom Fair, Rob Sandiford, Michael Birnbaum, Alex Soschin, and Daddy Bone will present highlights from this game-changing festival that featured such stellar artists as Pete Seeger, Jean Ritchie, Theo Bikel, Lightning Hopkins, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian and Sylvia, Richard and Mimi Farina, and Time Magazine's 1963 "cover girl," Joan Baez, to name but a few.

"The Folk Festival That Changed America" will take place on Saturday, July 25, at 7 pm at The Found Theatre, 599 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802. Admission is $10. Tickets may be reserved at 562-433-3363 or info@foundtheatre.org. Join as we bring that historic weekend in 1965 back to life. For more information: foundtheatre.org.
