Whitefire Theater in association with CRC Entertainment, presents the reflective real-life drama Beethoven and the Misfortune Cookies February 9th at 8pm, at the Whitefire Theater located at 13500 Ventura Blvd. Sherman Oaks, Calif.

A play written in two acts, starring Ernest Harden Jr (J. Edgar, White Men Can't Jump) and directed by TJ Castronovo and Written by Joni Ravenna, this production examines the true story of Kabin Thomas, a University of Arkansas music professor fired for using profanity in the classroom.

Thomas story brings attention to "controversial" teachers who present their classes in formats different than uninspired lectures and standardized tests.

Single-handedly teaching one of the largest UA classes, Thomas was responsible for more than 900 students in the spring of 2006. Was Thomas misguided in his efforts to reach the hearts of such a large group of students? Should popular teachers be penalized for using alternative means to stimulate their students' intellects? What is too provocative for these adults, and who should decide?

Tickets $20. RSVP to CRC Entertainment at 818-487-0700.
