EARWORM Joins The 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival ImageImpaired Vision Productions is excited to bring EARWORM to the stage for its World Premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Written by David Paul Bryant, directed by Robert Carlton Stimmel and David Paul Bryant, EARWORM follows a group of people who each have a song stuck in their head that they're dying to get out. The play deals with themes of mental health, relationships, and how we perceive the world. Opens June 2nd at McCadden Place Theater - 1157 N. McCadden Pl., Los Angeles, CA 90038

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head? The characters of Earworm know a thing or two about that. Welcome to William's Earworm Meetings, a support group for those plagued by a catchy tune that just won't let loose. Every week the members come together to help each other decipher the reasons why they each have their unique songs stuck with them. It's at these meetings that Chris meets Rachel, and they quickly discover that the key to alleviating their Earworms, may just lie in each other. But when they finally discover the silence, how much are they willing to sacrifice to keep the quiet?

This story is tied together with a variety of familiar songs that will surely stick with you when the performance is over.

A Note from the Playwright, by David Paul Bryant:

Earworm is my first stage play script; it comes from the culmination of what I love and what I am going through in my life at this moment: music and depression. I use music as a tool to help manage these feelings. However, I find myself always listening to the same songs over and over, day after day.

The events in Earworm are based on my past relationships and the six characters are six parts of my life and myself. I wanted to give all my characters a flaw, a believable personality, and an earned conclusion. I hope this allows the audience to connect to at least one of them and go through this journey with them.

Overall, I am putting myself on stage through my characters, and showcasing what I love. I have never seen depression tackled in the way I am trying to present it: by having a song stuck in your head for no clear reason. I hope that Earworm sticks with the audience in the same way these songs are stuck with my characters.
