Disney's TARZAN Plays El Portal Theatre, 4/25-5/18

From the Masters of family entertainment who brought you PINKALICIOUS and THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, Kelrik Productions proudly presents the musical, DISNEY'S TARZAN, playing April 25 - May 18, at the Monroe Forum Theatre, bringing children's programming to the historic El Portal Theatre, 5269 Lankershim Blvd. in the heart of the NoHo Arts District.

DISNEY'S TARZAN tells the classic tale of a shipwreck that leaves an infant boy orphaned on the shores of West Africa. The helpless baby is adopted and raised by the mate of the leader of a tribe of gorillas who is grieving the loss of her baby. As Tarzan grows and matures, he yearns for acceptance from his gorilla father and longs to discover the reason for his uniqueness. Eventually, he encounters his first human - Jane Porter, a curious young explorer - and both of their worlds are transformed. DISNEY'S TARZAN features music and lyrics by pop icon Phil Collins, including the Grammy and Oscar winning song "You'll Be in My Heart", and book by Tony Award-winning playwright, David Henry Hwang.

The cast of 18 performers will be led by Tyler Scherer as Tarzan. Tyler will be joined onstage by *Kristin Towers-Rowles playing Jane Porter. Also featured in DISNEY'S TARZAN will be Katherine Washington (Kala), Dedrick A. Bonner (Kerchak), Tevin Kyrell (Terk), Dylan F. Thomas (Clayton)and *Robert Towers (Professor Porter). The role of Young Tarzan will be performed by Kameron Kotraba and William Spanger. The Ensemble includes Antonio Ardolino, Paige Cerchiara, Darius Elmore, La Raina Gribble, Web Jerome, Jotape Lockwood, Joi Marchetti, Tiandre McGee

DISNEY'S TARZAN will be directed by Erik Austin with Musical Direction by Joshua Eli Kranz. The creative team also includes Samantha Whidby (Choreographer), Kathleen Forster (Costume Designer) and Keith Wetzel of Costume Capers (Costumer)
