Further casting has been announced for LA Theatre Works' production of THE CONSTANT WIFE by W. Somerset Maugham. Stephen Collins will join Kate Burton, who will reprise her Tony-nominated role as the title character.

THE CONSTANT WIFE will be a part of the theatre's "The Play's The Thing" radio series and will be performed at the Skirball Cultural Center April 14-18. Jeanie Hackett will direct.

There's something Constance Middleton's friends are dying to tell her: her husband is having an affair - with her best friend. Despite their hints, Constance remains ever cool, and seemingly oblivious. Or is she? In this biting comedy of manners, marriages and mistresses, Constance - a not-so-desperate housewife - has some ideas of her own about extra-marital activity that surprise everyone in the end.

The cast will also feature Rosalind Ayres, Mark Capri, John de Lancie, Christina Pickles, and Kirsten Potter.

"The Play's The Thing" series will continue with Warren Leight's SIDE MAN from Mary 12-16. SIDE MAN will feature Edie Falco and Frank Wood. Next is SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER by Oliver Goldsmith (June 16-20) with James Marsters and Roy Dotrice, and then Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's DOCTOR CERBERUS (July 14-18) with Adam Arkin and JoBeth Williams.

The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Saturday from 10 pm to midnight on 89.3 KPCC, and can also be streamed on demand at http://www.latw.org/.
