Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities and Executive Producer James A. Blackman III continue their 20th Anniversary Season with Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas' sweeping musical, The Light in the Piazza. Performances begin on Wednesday April 20 (with a gala press opening on Saturday April 23) and will run through Sunday May 8 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.

Winner of 6 Tony Awards, this soaring musical whisks its audience away to Italy for a captivating tale which celebrates the beauty and passions of the human heart.

It is the summer of 1953. Margaret Johnson is touring the Tuscan countryside with her daughter, Clara. While sight-seeing, Clara loses her hat in a sudden gust. As if guided by an unseen hand, the hat lands at the feet of Fabrizio Naccarelli, a handsome Florentine. Romance is sparked immediately between Clara and Fabrizio. As their love blossoms, Margaret is faced with a difficult choice: should she reveal a truth that could threaten her daughter's happiness or late fate run its course?

The cast features Mary Gordon Murray (best known for her role on ABC's One Life to Live) as Margaret Johnson, Michaelia Leigh as Clara Johnson, Anthony Carillo as Fabrizio Naccarelli, Randall Dodge as Signor Naccarelli, Robin Ann Page as Signora Naccarelli, Melina Kalomas as Franca Naccarelli, and Perry Ojeda as Giuseppe Naccarelli.
