Chris Farah to Host A LITTLE NEW MUSIC 11 at Rockwell Table & Stage This Spring

By:

Comedian, actress, and writer Chris Farah (SUPERSTORE, MODERN FAMILY, CHELSEA LATELY) will host the next A LITTLE NEW MUSIC concert at Rockwell: Table & Stage, a highly anticipated evening showcasing the latest in musical theater songwriting.

Farah was awarded Best Cabaret/Variety Show at the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival for her sold-out solo show FANCY: SECRETS FROM MY BOOTYDOIR. An improviser and sketch comedian, she frequently performs at the Cavern Club Theatre, UCB, and various stand-up and variety shows around LA.

Ovation Award-winning composer and musical director Gregory Nabours, who presented his work last year at the Kennedy Center in ASCAP's "Part of Broadway: Today and Tomorrow" series, will lead the band. An alum of A Little New Music's past concerts, you may also recognize him from recent BuzzFeedYellow videos, which have garnered 2 million views each.

Broadway's Renee Marino (JERSEY BOYS, WEST SIDE STORY, CHAPLIN, WONDERLAND) leads a growing roster of performing talent, including celebrated cabaret singer and M.A.C. Award winner Maude Maggart (LOOK FOR THE SILVER LINING), and LA's Next Great Stage Star winner Tory Stolper.

The concert also features guest appearances: composer Erik Przytulski and original cast member Allie Costa of ALIEN VS. MUSICAL (winner of ALNM's 2015 Outstanding Songwriting Award at Hollywood Fringe); and a sneak peak of The Falcon Theatre's world premiere musical REAL HOUSEWIVES OF TOLUCA LAKE, performed by writer Molly Bell and Katie Von Till (COMMUNITY). Additional writers and performers will be announced shortly.

Since 2013, ALNM has introduced an impressive array of over 125 songs by established and burgeoning composers alike, presented by stars of the stage and screen including Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan (THE SECRET GARDEN), John Tartaglia (AVENUE Q, SHREK the musical), Shoshana Bean (WICKED), Eric Peterson (SHREK the musical), Barrett Foa (25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, "NCIS: LA"), Kevin Chamberlin (SEUSSICAL, DISASTER THE MUSICAL), Jeff Marx (AVENUE Q), Nicole Parker (WICKED, "MADtv"), and Michael A. Shepperd (LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS).

A LITTLE NEW MUSIC is the best hour of new and unheard musical theatre material in LA. Whether a premiere from an established writer or an undiscovered tune from a promising up-and-comer, the mission is to showcase talent with a program that keeps your finger on the pulse.
