The Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre (CV Rep) continues to bring "theatre of substance" to the desert communities with its third production of the 2013-14 season, A Perfect Ganesh, by Tony Award winning playwright, Terrence McNally and directed by CV Rep Artistic Director, Ron Celona. Considered one of McNally's best plays, A Perfect Ganesh is an insightful and creative blend of comedy and drama with many enchanting characters, and a captivating plot filled with humor, warmth and a host of surprise twists and turns. The second of three McNally plays being presented at CV Rep this season, A Perfect Ganesh will enjoy a three week run from tonight, Jan 22-February 9, 2014 at the CV Rep Theatre in Rancho Mirage.

A Perfect Ganesh stars Mueen Jajan (Broadway's Bombay Dreams) as Ganesha, Sharon Sharth as Margaret Civil, Kathleen M. Darcy as Katherine Brynne and Sean Galusszka as Man., The play follows two wealthy, middle-aged suburban friends, Margaret and Katherine as they embark on a pilgrimage to the mystical world of India. Their travels are closely observed, and at times directed, by the Hindu "prankster" deity, Ganesha, who guides them on an intoxicating, soul healing and oftentimes comical journey through their secret dreams and tragic pasts. While on their madcap expedition, the women's deepest secrets are revealed, and their adventure becomes an enlightening mission to remove the emotional obstacles that are blocking their way to a more peaceful, spiritual existence. "I believe the theatre is a spiritual place that often helps to enlighten our path through life. Some plays do this more than others. A Perfect Ganesh is a good example of what I'm trying to share. Terrence McNally not only challenges the artistic team, but ultimately you the audience to take a journey with his characters in finding a more evolved understanding of life's loses, hopes and dreams. Prior to reading this play, I had no idea what Ganesha was or stood for but now I'm grateful to McNally for taking me on this journey. I hope you will be too", says Artistic Director, Ron Celona.
