"Roger Guenveur Smith believes in the interconnectedness of history: that our lives, big and small, are enmeshed in the great tangle of events, big and small." - The New York Times

The Watts Towers Project was a high point of Solomania! at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in 2006. Roger Guenveur Smith returns with an equally powerful and poetic story based on the infamous day in the summer of 1965 when San Francisco Giants pitcher Juan Marichal hit Los Angeles Dodgers catcher John Roseboro in the head with his bat. Smith witnessed the event on television and passionately presents it as part of a greater story that encompasses the Watts riots, Catholicism, the notions of marriage, family and, ultimately, redemption and forgiveness.

"Roseboro's forgiving me was one of the best things that happened in my life."
- Juan Marichal

"Hey, over the years, you learn to forget things."
- John Roseboro
