Apples and Oranges Studios has announced their not-for-profit arm of the company called Apples and Oranges Arts.

Apples and Oranges Arts works to empower artists to benefit from their talents so that they may continue to create in a sustainable way. Through various initiatives including THEatre ACCELERATOR and an online news outlet, Apples and Oranges Arts works with artists to educate, incubate and connect-the three pillars of the organization.

Tim Kashani, co-founder of Apples and Oranges Studios, said: "My wife Pamela and I founded Apples and Oranges Arts to create stories which inspire humanity. By Taking the Starving out of Artists we seek to empower storytellers to create a sustainable living in order to bring new and diverse stories to life."

EDUCATE
Creating experiential learning opportunities to accelerate careers. In an industry prone to linear processes, Apples and Oranges Arts combines the fresh perspectives of experienced technologists with the insider knowledge of entertainment industry veterans to enrich the arts community.

INCUBATE
Fostering tools and content that break boundaries in Augmented and Virtual Reality. Accelerating creative endeavors in the arts for works in their early stages. Applying models that accelerate technology start-ups, programs like Apples and Oranges Arts THEatre ACCELERATOR treats storytellers as founders creating an opportunity to interact with experts in storytelling, production, distribution, and the business of show business.

CONNECT
Apples and Oranges Arts links audiences and influencers to stories that unite and inspire humanity. We believe that diverse, invested communities are crucial to creating, sharing, and being part of meaningful stories. Fostering audience communities, storyteller communities, and the connection and interaction of the two is at the heart of creating sustainable careers in the modern entertainment industry.

An integral part of the incubate mission is THEatre ACCELERATOR, an immersive musical theatre intensive development accelerator for promising storytellers. Divided into virtual, residential and commercial units, the multi-phase program explores audience fit and market potential as they relate to, and inform, creative development.

The first phase of the program culminates in a live Shark-Tank-style pitch session where participants present their shows to theatre and tech industry veterans including artist/entrepreneur Randi Zuckerberg, Silicone Valley VC Jim Scheinman and Tony-Award winning Broadway Producer Deborah Taylor Barerra.

Phase 2 of THEatre ACCELERATOR employs a lean, iterative approach to story development where the ideas and data unearthed during Phase 1 are analyzed and applied to help guide plot, character and structural revisions.

Partnering with The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida and The University of California, Irvine in Orange County, THEatre ACCELERATOR combines a unique development ecosystem with world-class facilities to help writers and composers flourish.

Phase 1 of THEatre ACCELERATOR doesn't cost anything other than your time. You receive compensation as part of Phase 2 in exchange for a fixed equity percentage of your show.

The next THEatre ACCELERATOR class will be in September.

ACCELERATE! The Magic of Making Musicals stars Broadway and Southern California's best in an evening of music, storytelling and celebration from Apples and Oranges Arts THEatre ACCELERATOR alumni.

Take a peek behind the curtain as our entertainers break the fourth wall to take you on the journey of how musicals are born, from the "opening number" to Broadway. Limited tickets for the one night only concert event at The Irvine Barclay Theatre in Irvine, California will be available at nycoc.org/accelerate.
