Academy Award Winner Michael Westmore to Appear in Modern Masters Series

The Garry Marshall Theatre presents the second installment in their Modern Masters Series - six one-night only exclusive evenings with some of the most iconic interdisciplinary figures in the arts. Following a sold-out evening with television legend Norman Lear, the second Modern Masters evening will be part exhibit and part discussion with Academy Award & 9-time Emmy Award-winning makeup artist of Star Trek, Rocky, and countless iconic television series and films, Michael Westmore on Wednesday, February 21 at 7:30pm.

Special VIP $150 tickets include meeting Mr. Westmore and a signed copy of his autobiography Makeup Man. All proceeds support the 501c3 nonprofit Garry Marshall Theatre.

Deemed Hollywood Makeup Royalty, the Hollywood Walk of Fame recipient will discuss his long-spanning career - giving insight into the creative process of creature design, answer questions and present rare artifacts from his personal collection from his work on Star Trek, Rocky, Raging Bull, Mask and more.

ABOUT Michael Westmore

Michael Westmore is the third generation of Hollywood's Royal Family of Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists. During his 50+ years in the Motion Picture Industry, he has been associated with such stars as Sylvester Stallone, Farrah Faucet, Robert De Niro, Elizabeth Taylor, Betty Davis and even The Munsters. Eighteen years of Michael's career was spent with Gene Roddenberry, creating all the creatures and aliens that inhabited the Star Trek Universe. Michael has been recognized with over 100 national and international awards, which include an Academy Award for the movie Mask and three additional Academy Nominations for 2010, Clan of the Cave Bear, and Star Trek First Contact. Over his career he has been honored with nine Emmys and 42 Emmy Nominations. Presently he is appearing as 'The Mentor' with his hostess daughter McKenzie Westmore on the Syfy television makeup challenge Face Off.

Garry Marshall Theatre is a nonprofit organization providing innovative performances, educational opportunities, and storytelling activities for all ages, year-round. Located in the heart of Burbank and Toluca Lake's entertainment industry, the critically acclaimed and Ovation Award-winning 130-seat theatre was founded in 1997 as the Falcon Theatre by Hollywood legend Garry Marshall.
