A LITTLE NEW MUSIC VI to Return to Rockwell: Table & Stage, 9/23
Having established itself as the preeminent night of new musical theatre in Los Angeles, A LITTLE NEW MUSIC returns to Rockwell: Table & Stage in Los Feliz with a highly inventive program featuring Broadway and local talent. The hilariously irreverent Jordan Kai Burnett (THE MAX FACTOR FACTOR) will host for a fourth time, and we are pleased to welcome as our guest musical director the two-time Ovation Award-winning composer Gregory Nabours.
The evening will showcase songs by award-winning writers Carner & Gregor (ISLAND SONG), Gomez & Lyles (HATCHED), Gregory Nabours (THE TROUBLE WITH WORDS), Buck & Gwinn, Kristy Hanson (PIECE OF YOUR HEART), Sankoff & Hein (MY MOTHER'S LESBIAN JEWISH WICCAN WEDDING), Bogart & Rockwell (THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS, THE MUSICAL!), Levine & Castle, Anna K. Jacobs (POP!) & Michael R. Jackson, Kevin Ray, Rachel Peters, Meinwald & Leary, Daniel Mate?, and Moran & Pappas.
With performances by Broadway's Nicole Parker (WICKED, "MADtv"), Kevin Odekirk (LES MIS), Leslie Stevens (LA CAGE, VICTOR/VICTORIA), Rhett George (MEMPHIS, FAME), and Lisa Musser (JANE EYRE, LES MIS); plus Patricia Whiteman, Constance Jewell Lopez, Kevin Patrick Doherty, Shannon Martinous, David Crane, Jase Lindgren, Sammi Lappin and more. Special guest appearance by folk/pop singer-songwriter Kristy Hanson on guitar.
A LITTLE NEW MUSIC is a fast-paced hour of the newest or unheard musical theatre material. Whether a premiere from an established writer or an undiscovered tune from a promising up-and-comer, the mission is to entertain with a program that keeps your finger on the pulse.
