WHBPAC Extends FINEST IN WORLD CINEMA Series Into Fall 2013

By:

The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center has extended its "Rose & Don Ciampa Finest in World Cinema" Series into fall! Featuring its brand new digital cinema projection system, the WHBPAC will screen only the best current release art house, foreign, independent and documentary films that run concurrently at the most prominent film houses in New York City. The new schedule for fall films is Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and 7:30pm and Sunday at 4pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $9 for students/seniors, and $5 for WHBPAC Film Society members.

The PAC will screen director Fernando Trueba's delicately crafted drama The Artist and the Model on Friday, September 6 at 7:30pm, Saturday, September 7 at 4pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday, September 8 at 4pm and 7:30pm. It is summer of 1943. Marc Cros, an elderly sculptor tired of life and war, lives with his wife Lea in the south of France safe from the war that rages in the distance. He seems to have reached the end of his life and of his art. Inspired when a beautiful young Spanish girl comes knocking after escaping a refugee camp, he finds the desire to work on his last masterpiece. The Artist and the Model is in French/Spanish, is 105 Minutes, and Rated R.

Up next is director Thomas Vinterberg's compelling drama The Hunt on Friday, September 13 at 7:30pm, Saturday, September 14 at 4pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday, September 15 at 4pm and 7:30pm. A powerful depiction of how a lie becomes the truth when gossip, doubt and malice are allowed to flourish. Lucas is a highly-regarded school teacher who has been forced to start over having overcome a tough divorce. Just as things are starting to go his way, his life is shattered by an untruthful remark that throws the small community into a collective state of hysteria. As the lie spreads Lucas is forced to fight for his life and dignity. The Hunt is in Danish/English/Polish, is 115 Minutes, and is Rated R.

Then, director Gilles Legrand's fascinating thriller You Will Be My Son will be screened on Friday, September 20 at 7:30pm, Saturday, September 21 at 4pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday, September 22 at 4pm and 7:30pm. Paul de Marseul is the passionate, demanding proprietor of his prestigious family wine estate. But he has no faith in his son, Martin who works at the vineyard. Paul dreams of a harder-working, successful son - a dream that one day seemingly materializes when he meets Philippe, the son of his dying estate manager. Can Paul turn against his own blood and turn Philippe into the rightful heir of his family estate? You Will Be My Son is in French, is 102 Minutes, and Rated R.

Tickets: $15 adults, $9 students/seniors, $5 WHBPAC Film Society members. Purchase Tickets 3 Ways: online at www.whbpac.org; call the box office at 631-288-1500; or visit in person at 76 Main Street, Westhampton Beach, NY (Wednesday - Sunday, Noon - 6pm and later on show nights).
