NAACP Legacy Award winner JD Lawrence will write and direct THAT NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS - THE MUSICAL YOU WILL BELIEVE.

This festive musical takes the stage at the Selden campus of Suffolk County Community College - November 15, 16, 17, 18, 24 and 25 and 8pm and November 19 and 26 at 2pm.

Join us as the students of the Suffolk Theatre Arts Department warm your heart with an original holiday show. A hilarious, soul-stirring story for the whole family. A stranger found sleeping on the rooftop days before Christmas, claims to be the one and only Santa Claus aka Kris Kringle. He is taken into custody and must prove he is telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth or there won't be a Christmas. Colorful characters, memorable songs, and electrifying dances round-off this soon to be holiday classic. That Night Before Christmas is a-must-see for the entire family.

JD Lawrence is an American singer-songwriter, playwright, actor, comedian, author, director and producer of films, television and stage plays. JD Lawrence, also known as "The King of Dramedy," has mastered the art of improvisation infused with drama, comedy, and music. The multi- hyphenate portrays as many as seven characters in his sitcom JD Lawrence's Community Service and has been dubbed "The Man of Many Faces" by EBONY Magazine and, "Onstage, Lawrence is a prodigious theatrical talent," according to The New York Times.

The Suffolk Theatre Arts Department is thrilled to be working with Mr. Lawrence who is the first plawright to receive the NAACP Legacy award as well as being commended for his work by the Stuttering Foundation of America.

All performances take place in The Shea Theatre in the Islip Arts Building, 533 College Road, Selden NY. General admission: $12, students 16 years of age or younger: $10.
