The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport (Kevin J. O'Neill, Managing Director and Richard T. Dolce, Producing Artistic Director) announces its 2017-2018 Youth Theater Season, sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union.

The season starts with PINKALICIOUS, based on the beloved children's book by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann. Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament. July 22 - August 27, 2017.

Next up, we have the classic fairy tale CINDERELLA. Poor Cinderella is endlessly taunted by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and not allowed to attend the Royal Ball. With the help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the Prince, falls in love and lives happily ever after. Impossible things are happening every day! September 23 - October 29, 2017.

Celebrate the holiday season with the return of FROSTY! Join Jenny and Frosty on their chilly adventures as they try to save the town of Chillsville from the mean old Ethel Pierpot and her evil machine that will melt all the snow. Jenny calls on her Mom, the mayor, and all of you to help her save her home, get Frosty to the North Pole, and make this holiday season a Winter Wonderland for one and all! November 18 - December 31, 2017.

Just in time for Dr. Seuss's birthday, we'll bring one of his most popular characters to life in THE CAT IN THE HAT! From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat that they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and the craziest of ideas, he is certainly loads of fun. He turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure... but what will mum find when she gets home...? January 27 - March 4, 2018.

We end our season with the beloved musical THE WIZARD OF OZ, based on the classic story by L. Frank Baum. Dorothy Gale, bored with her life on a Kansas farm, is swept away to a magical land by a tornado and sets off on a quest to see the Wizard who can help her return home. On her way she meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. They all hope the Wizard of Oz will help them, before the Wicked Witch of the West catches up with them. March 24 - April 29, 2018.
