Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert Comes to Bay Street Theater on 10/1

By:

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to present an upcoming benefit concert to raise funds for hurricane victims around the country. The benefit will take place at Bay Street Theater on Sunday, October 1 from 4-6pm, and emceed by Southampton Town Supervisor, Jay Schneiderman who is helping organize the event. Suggested donations for adults are $20 and $10 per child, but any amount will be accepted. Donations can be made at the box office only. The box office is open Tuesday - Saturday, 11 am - 5 pm, and Sunday Oct 1 from 2pm onward. Anyone not available to attend on October 1 may make a donation at the box office any time prior to that date.

The concert is in honor of all of those whose lives were literally uprooted in recent weeks by hurricanes Harvey and Irma, and the rebuilding that will be required for many weeks and months to come. Bay Street Theater is donating the theater and staff services, and the musicians are donating their time and musical talents for the concert. As of this press writing, current musicians include Joe Lauro & The Hoodoo Loungers and Gene Casey & The Lone Sharks, with others to be added. All ticket and raffle proceeds will be used for hurricane relief efforts through the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

In addition to great music, a Special Raffle will be held in the lobby with items and prizes donated from local retailers and restaurants. These proceeds too will also be donated.

Benefits by Bay Street is a program of Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts that periodically provides the theater space and staffing to help others in need. Past benefits included events for the typhoon in the Philippines, the earthquake in Haiti, and the tsunami in Japan. Bay Street has raised over $20,000 at these events.
