Bay Street Theatre is pleased to present an Elvis Weekend! LEGENDS: ELVIS & FRIENDS will be presented on Friday, January 7 at 8 pm. After the film, there will be a dance concert with Gene Casey & THE LONE SHARKS. Tickets are $20 available at the door on the night of the event. The classic Elvis film BLUE HAWAII will be presented on Saturday, January 8 at 8 pm. Tickets for BLUE HAWAII are $5 at the door.

The weekend is in commemoration of Elvis Presley's 75th birthday on January 8. LEGENDS series creator Joe Lauro will present a tribute program of rare and exciting performance clips and early interviews of Elvis and some of his "Million Dollar Quartet" pals. JERRY Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and others will be rockin' and shakin' again in the company of "The King." Following the film, Gene Casey & THE LONE SHARKS will hit the Bay Street stage for a live dance concert. Come watch, listen and dance! Long live Elvis!

The Picture Show at Bay Street presents BLUE HAWAII, considered one of the better Elvis films. It was directed by Norman Taurog and written by Allan Weiss and Hal Kanter. In addition to a young Elvis, Angela Lansbury plays his mother in the film. The film had a big budget for the time and included a great soundtrack with songs such as "Blue Hawaii," "Can't Help Falling In Love," "Hawaiian Wedding Song," and more. "Rock A Hula" is a favorite of many as a truly Elvis dance number.
