CM Performing Arts Center Presents NOISES OFF, 9/14-30

By:

Take a backstage look at the hysterical antics and exploits of performers and their backstage bedlam. CM Performing Arts Center kicks off their 31st season with a fabulous comedy! Stepping out of the box (normally producing 5 musicals a season) it will be a pleasant change.

“Subscribers are interested in something a little different and we want them to know that we listen.” says Executive Director Noel Ruiz. Ed Brennan (former owner of Airport Playhouse) will direct this hysterical classic.

By English playwright Michael Frayn, NOISES OFF follows the on and off-stage antics of an acting troupe as they stumble from bumbling a dress rehearsal to a disastrous closing night. As the play within a play goes on, everything that can go wrong does. There are fumbled entrances and exits, missed cues and forgotten lines, and bothersome props and furniture. Add a slippery plate of sardines and an absurd amount of slamming doors, and you have the most hilarious backstage farce ever written.
