By:

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts brings Camp Broadway to Las Vegas for its third year. With two signature programs, Camp Broadway is geared toward students ages six to nine and the other ages 10 to 17.

Camp Broadway is designed for theater-loving students seeking an authentic Broadway experience. It's the only musical theater camp in the country that taps the talent of genuine Broadway artists and performing arts partners to teach campers how to deliver as if they're live, on stage and in the Big Apple.

Classic Camp, for students ages 10-17,features five days of musical theater programming from July 21 to 25. Shining Stars, for students ages six to nine, features five half days - choice of morning or afternoon sessions - of musical theatre creative play from July 7 to 11. Both programs are led by trained Broadway professionals who guide students through the process of learning scenes and songs from Broadway's most famous productions.

Develop to boost confidence, character and presentation skills through ensemble performance, the immersive week-long program highlights musical theater and drama and is an authentic, enlightening and joyous theater arts experience. Activities include acting technique workshops, exposure to the Broadway movement and music rehearsal process and performance opportunities led by trained Broadway professionals. Inspired by Broadway's cherished works and steeped in its grand traditions, campers work together as a creative team to create works of art that will be performed in the Family Finale. Every summer camp program is designed to build confidence, inspire creative expression, and instill well-being in both aspiring artists and future audiences. Both camps are open to students of all skill levels; no previous experience is necessary.

Since its inception in 1995, Camp Broadway has hosted nearly 20,000 children from all over the world at its annual camp and special events in its originating city, New York City.

Program prices at The Smith Center are set at $450 for Shining Stars and at $695 for Classic Camp. Children are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. For more information, visit www.thesmithcenter.com/campbroadway.
