Summit Theatre Group Kicks Off Christmas Season with THE GIFTS OF THE MAGI This Weekend
The Summit Theatre Group will kick off this Christmas season with the heart-warming musical "THE GIFTS OF THE MAGI" in a dinner theatre presentation at the Emaline Ballroom, 616 SW Third Street in Lees Summit this weekend, December 4th, 5th and 6th. The show is simply wonderful entertainment for every member of the family.
"THE GIFTS OF THE MAGI", a captivating Christmas musical, is based on two of O. Henry's short stories and set in New York City in the 19th century -- a pennyless young couple sell their most prized possessions (she her beautiful long hair and he an heirloom pocket watch) to buy a Christmas gift for the other. It's a show that speaks to the joy of giving, the true spirit of the Christmas season will fill your heart with warmth and may even bring a tear to your eye.
The show is directed and choreographed by Kristen Sullivan; musical director is Tim Braselton; the cast includes Laney Zornes as Willy, Ray Ettinger as Soapy, Ginger Birch as Della, Nancy Chipchase, as City Her, Justin Dehmer as Jim, Jared Hill as City Him and Patty Armstrong as City Her. Songs and music include: Gifts of the Magi, How Much to buy my Dream, Burn Luck, Pockets and The same Girl.
"THE GIFTS OF THE MAGI" will be presented in dinner theatre format this weekend -- Thursday evening December 4th at 6:00 p.m. -- Friday evening December 5th at 6:00 p.m. -- Saturday December 6th a matinee at 1:00 p.m. and a dinner performance 6:00 p.m. at The Emaline Ballroom, 616 SW 3rd Street in Lees Summit.
