Starlight Indoors Turns Up the Humor With Three Comedic Entertainment Choices This Month

A new year isn't the only thing Kansas City is ringing in this month. The third winter of live theatre presented on the heated stage INSIDE Starlight Theatre's expansive stage house is also cause to celebrate!

Newly sponsored by the Missouri Lottery, the 2018 Starlight Indoors Series opens Tuesday, Jan. 30. Three shows, with a combined total of 21 performances including popular weekend matinees, will stoke the city's sense of humor through Sunday, March 4.

"It's exciting that Kansas City residents increasingly understand and believe that they can really see a show INDOORS at Starlight Theatre during the winter months," said Caroline Gibel, Starlight's director of indoor programming. "With a great mix of small comedies, musicals and slightly quirky shows in our 2018 series, audience members will not only be warm, they'll be highly entertained!"

Each show is presented inside the heated Cohen Community Stage House on-site at Starlight. With space for just 420 people on comfortable, riser-style seating, each performance is an intimate and enjoyable experience for guests. Starlight's Applause Club opens one hour before each performance and offers food and drink items for purchase pre-show. Parking and coat check are free at all indoor shows.

The 2018 Missouri Lottery Starlight Indoors Series will feature these three hilarious hits:

Forbidden Broadway
January 30-February 4

This fall-down-funny musical roast of Broadway comes to Starlight Indoors with new victims and new laughs! Just when Broadway thought it was safe from the poison pen of comedy writer Gerard Alessandrini, he returns with new targets like Pippin and Kinky Boots that join favorites including Wicked and The Book of Mormon. A one-stop ticket to non-stop laughs, Forbidden Broadway has earned nine Drama Desk Awards, a Special Tony® Award, an Obie, a Lucille Lortel Award and a Drama League Award. Suggested for ages 8+.

Dixie's Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding a Mechanical Bull and 16 Other Things I Learned
While I Was Drinking Last Thursday

February 13-18

Funny lady Dixie Longate was a huge hit with Kansas City audiences when she brought her self-styled Tupperware party to town in January 2016. Now she's back to take fans to her favorite honky-tonk where she'll share lessons learned after a hard night of drinking. What do a jeweled crown, a cardboard cutout of Julie Andrews and a box full of moon pies have in common? You'll discover that and much more when you attend Dixie's new hit show! Suggested for ages 16+.

Broadway's Next H!t Musical
February 27-March 4
In Broadway's Next H!t Musical, every song is fresh, every scene is new, and every night is different at the only unscripted theatrical awards show. That's because master improvisers create a spontaneous evening of music, humor and laughter based off audience suggestions at every performance. Under the direction of producers and improv veterans Rob Schiffmann and Deb Rabbai, this hit show has been featured at The Triad, Tribeca Film Festival, New York Musical Theatre Festival and many more. Suitable for all audiences.

Season ticket packages for all three Starlight Indoors shows start at just $79. Single ticket prices range from $26 to $66, including VIP tickets that include premium seating and one complimentary drink. VIP tickets for Dixie also include a private meet and greet and photo opportunity.
