Carnegie Arts Center Hosts Special Lincoln Exhibition Thru October
The Carnegie Arts Center in Leavenworth, Kansas, is hosting a Lincoln exhibition in the Stacks Gallery for the month of October, with the next event being a lecture by Dr. Jonathan Earle with the University of Kansas that will take place on October 24, at 4:00pm.
The exhibit opened on October 3 with a book signing and Lincoln lecture by Tom Mach, author of Sissy! and All Parts Together. The exhibition is part of a month-long celebration of Abraham Lincoln and his visit to the Kansas Territory and the city of Leavenworth in 1859. On October 4, Dr. Bryan Le Beau with the University of Saint Mary spoke on the subject of Currier and Ives and their company's portrayal of Lincoln during his political career.
The items on display are on loan from the University of Saint Mary and First City Photo. For a complete list of events, click here.
