Barn Players to Stage FOOTLOOSE, Jan 16-25

"FOOTLOOSE", a Barn Junior production, will burst on the Barn Players stage in an exhilarating show based on the original screen play by Dean Pitchford; the cast features very talented local middle school and high school students and will be presented at the Barn Players Theatre, 6219 Martway in Mission, January 16-25, 2015; Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 with Sunday matinees at 2:00. Rated PG-13.

The Top-40, rockin' music and dancing won an Oscar and has a Tony nominated Top-40 score that became a #1 album on Billboard selling more than 15 million copies. Music includes: "Footloose", "Lets hear it for the Boy", "On Any Sunday", "Somebody's Eyes", "Almost Paradise", "Still Rockin" and will have you humming and dancing in the aisles as you leave the theatre.

The story: Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town. Ren is prepared for the adjustments, but not prepared for the religious edicts set by the local preacher. The heart-tugging story that emerges is that of a father longing for the son he lost and a son aching for his father. "FOOTLOOSE" celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people and guiding them with an open mind.

The Barn Junior production is directed by Guy Gardner, musical direction by Todd Kendall Gregory-Downs. The cast features: Alex Leondedis, Kennedy Clinkscale, Veronica Wood, Alec Walberg, Kenzi Parsons, Abigail Cottingham, Sheridan Mirador, Paige Padgett, Lakin Allen, Andrea Azeltine, Sabrina Stewart, David Wernsman, Mahryn Barron, Margaret Anne Veglahn, Merritt Parsons, Hewleek McKay, Cole Bracken, Gavin Hoedl, Veronica Dervin, Alyssa Hoedl, Claire Segura and Brooklyn Terrill.
