Job Description: Mane Attraction Crew Assistant

Location: Southwick’s Zoo; 2 Southwick St. Mendon, Massachusetts, 01756

Reports to: Performer, Tech Performer, Entertainment Coordinator, Director of Operations, Owner

Schedule: Seasonal (April–December), event-based, 5–6 hours/day; includes weekends, holidays, special events

Pay: $15/hr

Position Summary

Provides essential behind-the-scenes support to ensure entertainment areas, costumes, and materials are clean, organized, and performance-ready. Helps maintain a smooth and professional operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and breakdown of entertainment areas

• Clean and maintain props, equipment, and performance spaces

• Steam, organize, and care for costumes

• Support promotional efforts and material distribution

• Restock supplies and assist performers/crew as needed

Team Support

• Take direction from leadership and assist where needed

• Help maintain organization backstage and in storage areas

Guest Experience & Safety

• Maintain clean, safe, and presentable environments

• Follow all safety and cleanliness standards

Qualifications

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized

• Willingness to perform physical tasks (lifting, cleaning, walking)

• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

• Positive attitude and team-focused mindset

• Availability on weekends, holidays, and peak days

Preferred

• Experience in custodial work, events, or backstage support

• Interest in entertainment or production environments

Salary: 15/hr
