Video Producer

The Video Content Producer is someone who loves filmmaking and understands Chicago theatre. We take great pride in our brand recognition and this role is critical to maintaining our voice and aesthetic across multiple platforms. Under the guidance of Steppenwolf’s Creative Director, we are looking to add a team member to execute, sustain and grow our original content. This highly creative position will also play a key role in welcoming back our patrons to live performances in our stunning new Arts and Education building. A variety of new projects will be required to promote this beautiful new architectural addition to our campus and to the city of Chicago. The position requires strong video technical skills, high-level communication and organizational expertise. We need a producer who can coordinate with artists, freelancers and staff members, run a video shoot as a camera operator, handle postproduction editing, finishing and distribution to various platforms and cover general administrative and departmental duties Day-to-day work includes producing narrative trailers for upcoming productions, creating short-form documentary-based promos for theatrical programming or institutional initiatives, capturing audience testimonials for productions, occasional event photography, operating cinema cameras, editing video content from import to color grade and distribution. A reel, video portfolio or video samples are required as part of the application process for this position. The link to your reel should be embedded into your cover letter. Areas of Responsibility:

• Stage, build and operate digital cinema cameras

• Build lighting scenarios for narrative and documentary

• Experience with line producing in a video environment

• Handle complex editing projects with short deadlines

• Digital content management and archiving

• Attending all department meetings

• Recommend equipment improvements

• Photo and video posting to web CMS and social media platforms Successful candidates will:

• Working expertise in social media platforms

• Experience with cinema cameras (C100/300, FS7, Ursa Mini)

• High proficiency with non-linear Editing (Final Cut, Premiere, Resolve)

• Some experience as line producer in a video environment
