Stage Crew - Aspen Music Festival and School

Description

The Meadows Campus Production Team is responsible for the production implementation of all concerts, rehearsals, and events which occur at the Aspen Music Festival & School’s main performance venues in Aspen, Colorado. These facilities include our 2,050-seat Benedict Music Tent and the 500-seat Harris Concert Hall. AMFS produces an 8-week festival presenting world class artists in classical music, opera, theatre, and more with multiple events happening every day. Stage Crew works under the supervision of the Meadows Production Manager and Assistant Production Managers.



Responsibilities

Tasks for Stage Crew may include implementing stage sets, changeovers, hanging/cabling lighting instruments, loading trucks, assisting opera run crew, maintaining the venue’s concert equipment (chairs/stands/risers, etc...), stage managing chamber music concerts or master classes, preparing the venues for first performances and winterizing them at the end of the summer, and tending to occasional custodial and facilities needs of the Meadows Campus.

Stage Crew will work with world-renowned artists, faculty, students, orchestra managers, librarians, house managers, audio engineers, and fellow production staff to ensure excellence for performers and audience members.

In this role, there are eight positions available for the summer of 2024.

Requirements

Candidates must have prior technical/production experience in the arts, stage work, electrics, rigging, and/or carpentry - prior classical music concert production a plus.

The ideal candidate must be strong, proactive, intuitive, respectful, and energetic.

Candidates must be team-oriented and have the ability to complete a rigorous work list with excellent endurance and a positive attitude.

Candidates must prioritize well, complete multiple tasks efficiently, and be comfortable with a variably paced schedule.

Candidate should understand the basics of working safely at great heights.

Candidates must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and materials or, of greater weights in tandem with additional crew member assistance.

June 10, 2024-August 29, 2024



Compensation

$14.42/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $4.45/hour depending on location.) Overtime $21.63/hour.

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.

Hiring Timeline

Application review to begin in January. Applicants who submit materials before February 12, 2024 will be given priority in the review process. Interviews will be scheduled to begin after February 12, 2024. Application to remain open until position(s) filled.
