ABOUT
The St. Ignatius Concert Series held its first season in 2024 after preliminary trial performances in 2022 and 2023. Since then, the series has garnered the interest and support of musicians and music lovers throughout the Boston area.
The St. Ignatius Concert Series is completely volunteer led, uniting professional music with a beautiful worship space provided by St. Ignatius Parish, located near Boston College’s campus. The space at St. Ignatius is a beautiful Gothic cathedral, and the architectural aspects make for an impressive and awe-inspiring experience for listeners. Our mission is to transform St. Ignatius from a place that meets only for worship into a vibrant hub for the arts, where invited performers may share their art with our community.
WHAT WE DO
The Concert Series hosts monthly concerts that span multiple musical genres throughout the year. Each concert is free to attend, with a suggested $20 donation. The St. Ignatius Concert Series was built on the idea that high-caliber music performances could be and should be affordable and accessible to anyone, and that belief has not changed. The entire concert series has been sustained by individual donations, which go directly back towards the artistry that one sees on stage.
We champion a broad range of musical performances across several genres. Past concerts have featured flamenco, jazz, choral music, broadway tunes, opera, and classical chamber works. This variety not only opens up a greater platform for more musicians and artists to perform, but also offers an array of musical experiences that may appeal to everyone.
Salary: $200-300.00
