This Spring, for the first time, the National Music Theater Institute (NMTI) will be offered as a stand alone semester program, offering students a robust, specialized curriculum taught by working professionals to build practical skills needed to thrive as a music theater performer.
Led by Tony nominee Alexander Gemignani, Artistic Director of the O’Neill’s National Music Theater Conference, you will receive an intentional, high-level educational experience through the lens of professional rigor. NMTI will help you build greater confidence in your performance craft and provide you with tools to help meet the demands of the professional music theater industry.
In the 13-week intensive semester, you will take classes in vocal technique, vocal performance, acting, and dance, paired with unique enrichment classes in dramaturgy and insights into creative team functionality. Cohorts are small, creating an intimate and individualized experience to promote collaboration with faculty and your fellow NMTI students. You will receive 16 transferable college credits, accredited through Connecticut College, for your studies.
Program Fee: $29,500 [Scholarships are available]
