JOB PURPOSE:

The General Manager is a strategic business partner and provides management support for key areas for The Elf on the Shelf's Magical Holiday Journey, an immersive walk-thru theatrical holiday experience. In partnership with the producers, Constellation Immersive; this position works holistically and collaboratively with all departments across the organization. Additionally, the General Manager guides the Company Management and Production departments and has strong coordination with various departments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create, develop, maintain and track budgets that contribute to fiscal health of the production. Key participant in the season planning process.

- Motivated, achievement-orientated professional with a consultative approach and the ability to positively connect with guests.

- Utilizes knowledge and experience to easily recognize opportunities to improve the operations.

- Takes pride in providing exceptional services to meet all of the needs of our guests.

- Manage and negotiate contracts with actors, directors, designers, choreographers, composers and other artistic staff within union regulations and established budgets.

- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the work rules for the five represented unions: AEA, SDC, USA, IATSE, AFM

- Serve as a point of contact for labor/management and contractual questions from staff.

- Negotiate royalties and production licenses.

- Manage, negotiate, and execute intellectual property contracts between TUTS and authors, composers, orchestrators, and lyricists.

- Negotiate contracts for international, national, and local presenting companies and co-producing partners within established budgets, union regulations, and parameters of the presenting space; as applicable.

- Serve as the point of contact and manage flow of information across the organization as it relates to the outside producers, presenters, promoters and visiting national and international companies ; as applicable.

- Management/oversight of strategy development related to general venue operations to ensure a stable and secure infrastructure that meets the business requirements; including, but not limited to: liaison as needed for building maintenance and improvement projects, Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and IT support staff.

- Foster and support safety management efforts and to develop protocols and procedures for the staff.

- Hire, supervise, train and manage direct reports through coaching, mentorship, performance meetings and ongoing feedback. Involve Producers on performance issues as needed.

- Assist the Producers in strategic projects and analysis; as applicable.

- Other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:

- A minimum of five years of experience in theater, live events and/or location-based entertainment

- Knowledge of theater and hybrid experiences.

- Possess both FOH and BOH experience.

- Ability to think strategically and execute with attention to detail.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.

- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

- Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, corporate professionals, artists, teachers, community partners, volunteers, and the general public.

- Demonstrated ability to manage complex organizational budgets.

- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communication on both an interpersonal and group level.

- Strong commitment to and experience working with diverse groups in terms of gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class and immigrant status.

- Ability to exercise professional discretion and confidentiality.

- Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Salary: Pre-production fee $35-45k, weekly fee when open $2-3k
