A2 for our upcoming production, THE COMEUPPANCE -SIGNATURE THEATRE



Signature Theatre, one of New York’s leading off-Broadway theatres, is seeking an A2 for our upcoming production, THE COMEUPPANCE, a world premiere by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.



About Signature

Founded in 1991, Signature Theatre celebrates playwrights and gives them an artistic home, producing six to eight productions annually. In 2005 Signature began its groundbreaking Signature Ticket Initiative, providing affordable tickets to all of its productions. In 2012, Signature opened The Pershing Square Signature Center, the Frank Gehry-designed 75,000 square foot Center featuring three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a central, public lobby with a café and bookstore, as well as administrative offices.

Position Summary

The A2 is a part-time hourly position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing wireless microphones and IEMs includes maintaining the wireless equipment over the course of a show run and managing the health of rechargeable batteries in use with the wireless systems.

• Using lavalier mic elements, create mic rigs to fulfill the visual and audio requirements of the sound design team.

• Work with the A1 to test and troubleshoot any issues that may arise with the wireless mics and IEMs during the run of the show.

• Help distribute and manage wired and wireless com amongst run crew for the show, as well as troubleshooting any com issues that may come up.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of Shure wireless microphone systems (UR, ULXD), and Wireless Workbench software

• Experience in painting and coloring lavalier mics

• Possess a positive attitude, self-motivated, and is pro-active in looking for and solving potential issue.

Production Dates:

• Tech starts: Fri, 5/5/23

• 1st Preview: Tue, 5/16/23

• Opening Night: Mon, 6/5/23

• Closing Performance: Sun, 6/25/23

Compensation

The position pays $28/hour. Any hours worked beyond 40 hours in a work week is compensated at $42/hour, which is one and a half times the regular rate of $28/hour.
