The evening at colonus is the only work for the teatro di Elsa Morante, inspired by Oedipus at colonus by Sophocles: published in "the world saved by children", has never been performed. Carlo Cecchi has lived next to the writer of the different desires of staging of this text by Eduardo De Filippo, Carmelo Bene, Vittorio Gassman, and he imagined it himself. With Charles we worked together several times, and several times we talked about de La evening at Colonus: a love of this text leads us today to work the show.
The company will be formed by actors who have starred with Cecchi and with me, while Nicola Piovani and Sergio Tramonti will work with the music and the scene. Both, and Angelica Ippolito, lived with Cecchi and Morante's extraordinary season of Granteatro: meeting between different generations revives the spirit of a group.
To me, that I haven't had the chance to learn about Elsa Morante, seem to listen while the actors begin to read the text. And it's a voice that has no equal.
