A new show in the "Let the words move you" series from Mediatheque Holon: "Grandma Sultana's Salty Biscuits," a tribute show for Dan-Benaya Seri, will run Friday, May 19, 2017, at 12:00.

Author Dan-Benaya Seri strolls around a typical Jerusalem neighborhood as he meets the three heroines from his well-known book "Grandma Sultana's Salty Biscuits"- Grandma Sultana, mother Zohara and grandson's wife Clara. Presented from the neighborhood (on the Mediatheque stage) are the author's stories, baroque texts by three actresses, and music that rises from the east and reaches glowing depths by six musicians.

Performing in the show: Dan-Benaya Seri, Avi Belleli, Shlomo Bar, Israel Bright, Elad Gabay, Alma Dishi, Galia Chai, Shalom Mor, Osnat Fishman, Hila Feldman.

Dan-Benaya Seri, born in 1935, is an author who through his wonderful work expresses deep humanity and succeeds to express the varied Israeli essence. Seri was born in Jerusalem to a Yemenite family and began to write in a relatively late age. Among his book credits include: "Grandma Sultana's Salty Biscuits", "Birds of the Shade", "Mishael" and many more. In 2016 he received an honorary doctorate from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
