Tmu-na Theatre Presents JOSEPH JOSEPHSON IS DEAD - THE MUSICAL

Joseph Josephson Is Dead is a musical comedy about the Josephson family, forced to gather together to do the shiv'ah for their grandfather's death. But the Josephsons are busy with everything except the death of their grandfather, and their anxieties, obsessions, dreams - and even the visit of death - simply cannot stop them.

Benjamin, the son of Joseph Josephson, finds it difficult to accept his failure to finish the book he has been working on. This sense of failure causes him to distance himself from the entire family.

His wife, Miriam, is plagued with the feeling that the burdens of the family are entirely on her shoulders. Other members of the family do not see her beyond the role she fills, which triggers her drinking alcohol in secret.

Yael, the eldest daughter, experiences first love for a combat soldier, and her anxiety for his well-being gnaws at her as she seeks her place in the family.

Ronnie, the youngest daughter, is on the cusp between a girl and a woman - but when her models of femininity are her mother and her older sister, adolescence never seemed so difficult.

The story of the Josephson family is told by The Grim Reaper, who studies human ways of dealing with the ultimate end, and finds that, when he arrives, life breaks out in full force.
