Review: SHLOFTA - IMPROVISATION SHOW at Habima Theater

SHLOFTA is an improvisation show that has been putting on performances independently across Israel for more than four years!

There is no theater behind them, nor a sponsor backing them - SHLOFTA is truly an independent ensemble cast. That is just part of what makes their creation so fascinating and courageous: full faith in their art.

SHLOFTA composed of 10 sketches, each inspired by ideas from the audience. The viewers find themselves actively involved in the work. Each skit has its own rules that stretch the boundaries of imagination, giving a new angle to familiar situations. The lighting, sound and even the jokes are created anew for each show, making every evening a re-creation based entirely on the audience.
Lighting designer, Eyal Daniel, creates lighting for each show live, in an intelligent and dynamic way. The sound is chosen from thousands of songs in a matter of seconds, and as the Actors improvise, the result is a performance that maintains a uniqueness show after show, but presents itself as a well-seasoned production every time.

The Actors: Itay Hacohen, Alex Shlimovich, Yonatan Gruber, Liron Avidar, Or Werner, Barak Dar, Yaron Nizan and Idan Levy.
