It was announced today that the line up for Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival 2010 will include a new staging of The Silver Tassie from Druid. Directed by Tony Award winner Garry Hynes the cast of 19 for this production includes Liam Carney, Derbhle Crotty, Aoife Duffin, Clare Dunne, Brian Gleeson, Ruth Hegarty, Aaron Monaghan, Eamon Morrissey and John Olohan. Along with the usual stellar Druid creative team, music will be composed by award-winning Elliot Davis, who has worked on major West End hits such as Cats, Miss Saigon and Les Misérable and Pogues guitarist Philip Chevron.

Tickets for this exciting production will go on sale to the public on 18th August when booking opens for the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival and will also be available by becoming a Friend in the priority booking period from July 28th.

This sweeping play follows the lives of two young footballing heroes from the tenements of Dublin through the battlefields of France, and their return home.

Using all the resources of the theatre including live music and dance, this is an epic staging of one of O'Casey's great plays.

Druid, winner of 12 major theatre awards worldwide in 2009 including Best Production, Best Director and Best Ensemble, is back with a production you simply won't want to miss.

Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival continues to celebrate and present the best of Irish and InterNational Theatre bringing a wealth of drama to the city for 18 days this autumn. The full programme for the 2010 Festival, which runs from 30th Sept - 17th Oct will be announced on July 28th. Public booking commences 18th August (Friends of the Festival booking opens July 28th).
