The Crokey Hill Club to Present NOBODY'S TALKING TO ME at the Everyman

By: Mar. 20, 2017
The Crokey Hill Club will present NOBODY'S TALKING TO ME, written and directed by Tommy Marren, 8pm, Friday 24th- Saturday 25th March 2017, at the Everyman Theatre, MacCurtain Street, Cork.

After an unprecedented three years on the road with the sell-out hit comedy 'It's the Real McCoy', playwright Tommy Marren presents his brand new play 'Nobody's Talking to Me' at the Everyman this week. The script promises just as many laughs in a rip-roaring two-hour Irish comedy set in rural Ireland in 1969.

The action takes place in the kitchen of Mattie and Maggie Conway on the day of their 50th wedding anniversary. However, what should be a day of great celebration is anything but! The 'happy couple' haven't spoken a single word to one another for 10 years and when the parish priest decides to surprise them by dropping in to renew their marriage vows all hell breaks loose!

Stand by for a night of hilarious one-liners and put-downs as 'Nobody's Talking To Me' takes you on a two-hour rollercoaster of Irish comedy. Tickets €22, concession €20, are available from www.everymancork.com, or from the box office, phone 021 4501 673.

In 2007 Tommy penned the play 'The Banshee of Crokey Hill' which was his first major success as a playwright and it won numerous awards at drama festivals throughout the country as well as touring the UK and America. In 2010 he co-wrote the highly acclaimed drama/musical 'On A Wing and A Prayer' and his comedy play 'It's the Real McCoy' holds the record of the longest touring play by an amateur theatre group in Ireland with over 200 live performances in three years. In 2015 he wrote the musical 'Paddy' which toured both Ireland and the UK in 2015/2016.
