THE MINES, DUBLIN 6 Closes at The New Theatre
THE NEW THEATRE's production of THE MINES, DUBLIN 6 will close on February 6, 2010.
1980's Rathmines ... two men in their mid fifties, Michael from County Clare and Dublin born Willy are long time tenants in a three storey Georgian house. The friends share a common life path in this flat dwelling metropolis; both have loved and lost their soul mates to the cruel hand of faith. Michael's frail mind is submerged in past memories of choice, regret and tormented acceptance. Willy has been down a similar life road struggle as Michael, difference being his quirky sense of humour, vivid imagination and spontaneous vitality continue to be his saving grace.
The Mines, Dublin 6 takes a blackly humorous look at two ordinary men beset by heart wrenching loss and the unique way we have of viewing and struggling with our uncharted lives.
