All Welcome

As part of Roscommon Arts Centre's 10th birthday celebrations we are delighted to welcome this exhibtiion of works by one of Ireland's most celebrated living artists.

This exhibition consists of 15 lithograph brush drawings created by Louis leBrocquy as illustrations to Thomas Kinsella's 1969 translation of the Irish legend The Táin Bo Cuailnge. The Táin tells the story of the great cattle-raid of Cooley, when the armies of Medb and Ailill, queen and king of Connacht, invaded Ulster with the intention of carrying off a great brown bull. The Táin has been hailed as the greatest Irish Artist's Book of the twentieth century and this exhibition presents a wonderful opportunity for audiences to see these seminal works by one of Ireland's greatest living artists.

This exhibition is drawn from The Niland Collection and is presented in collaboration with The Model, Sligo.
