Fiona and Jean Kelly to Perform at St. Iberious Church, Wexford, 27th July

By: Jul. 21, 2011

Sisters Fiona (Flute) and Jean Kelly (Harp) will be performing in Wexford and Cork next week. Fiona is on a visit home to Ireland from New York. Fiona has just completed her MA in performance at the Juilliard School. Highlights this year included playing with the New York Philharmonic and taking second prize in an international flute competition in Romania. While in Ireland Fiona has performed in some of the Kaleidoscope events.

Jean has just returned from a concert cruise on the Mediterranean and highlights this year include working on the film score of ‘We need to talk about Kevin' with Jonny Greenwood (Radio Head)-this film was nominated for a Palme D'Or in Cannes. It is expected to go on public release shortly.
She also flew back to Ireland to perform for Queen Elizabeth in Arus and Uachtarain earlier this year.

The sisters rarely get an opportunity to perform together and are looking forward to performing some of their grandfather TC Kelly's arrangements as well as Thomas Roseingrave sonatas (also an ancestor- he performed in the first performance of Handel's Messiah in Dublin)
