The Lincoln Amphitheatre will host its final audition date for "The Wizard of Oz" on Saturday, April 30.
Auditions will from 2 - 6 p.m. CDT at Lincoln Amphitheatre inside Lincoln State Park, 15032 N. CR 300 E Lincoln City, Ind.
Interested parties do not need to set up an appointment, and should block out the full four hours scheduled for auditions. All actors must come prepared with a memorized solo with a CD accompaniment track or an accompanist. A piano and a CD player will be provided at each venue. A brief dance audition will be taught to all who attend. Comfortable shoes are recommended to be worn. Children under the age of 14 will be auditioned on a separate to- be- announced date in May.
Christopher Tyner, director for "The Wizard of Oz," says he wants to cast up to 50 actors from the southern Indiana region.

Steampunk, a science fiction genre inspired by 19th century Victorian Era Britain and Old American West, is the direction Tyner plans to take "The Wizard of Oz" in without making changes to the movie script version.
Lincoln Amphitheatre's 2011 production season is complete with "The Wizard of Oz" and "Our American Cousin." "The Wizard of Oz" will take the stage July 21 - August 7, Thursday to Saturday evenings with a Sunday matinee. "Our American Cousin" will run August 19 - August 27, Friday and Saturday evenings with a Sunday matinee. The 2011 "Lincoln's Legacy Lives" fundraising campaign is underway to support the expansion of family-friendly and affordable events at Lincoln Amphitheatre.
