Dajiworld.com reports that Disney India is set to bring ALADDIN to India in the summer of 2018. After their success with Beauty and the Beast, Disney India announced they will bring a Broadway-style production of the beloved musical ALADDIN to the stage, promising it will be full of the magic and comedy that fans of the movie and current Broadway production know and love.

Vikrant Pawar, Head - Live Entertainment and Local Content Studio at Disney India, said of the production, "We feel Aladdin has a universal appeal and the musical will bring the magical story alive, making it truly memorable for our audiences here... Our endeavor has always been to develop world-class entertainment that is locally relevant."

The stage version of ALADDIN is based on the 1992 film of the same name, and opened on Broadway with Disney Theatrical Productions in 2011. It has seen huge success, including multiple international and regional productions as well as a North American tour that continues through summer 2018.

ALADDIN features music by Tony Award and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, with lyrics by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman and three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.

Auditions for Disney India's production of ALADDIN are now open!
