Pitch Me This (PMT) Productions announces its upcoming production of Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party. Accompanied live by the PMT Band and in collaboration with Juxtapose Arts Collective (PMT's new dance organization), PMT's The Wild Party is presented as a fully-immersive, Brechtian-style production that encourages audience participation and includes them as party-goers.
Based on Joseph Moncure March's poem of the same name, The Wild Party follows Queenie (Elizabeth Curtin), a blonde burlesque dancer, and Burrs (John Watkins), a vaudeville clown, as they attempt to throw an unforgettable party for their friends and fellow performers. Throughout the course of the evening, we meet Kate (Liz Tinder), an old friend of Queenie's, and Black (Aaron C. Phillips), a new love interest of Kate's, as well as a varied and interesting group of other vaudeville performers and party-goers. In true party fashion, the two couples get caught in a series of misunderstandings that lead to a tragic and unexpected end to their wild party.
The production team includes Travis Kirk Coombs (director), Eduardo Guzman (music director), Heather Steele (choreographer), John Morales (lighting designer), Steve Garris (sound designer), and Shannon Nichols (costume designer & stage manager).
Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party runs from October 28-November 12, 2016 at Hub Studio in the Heights. Performances begin at 8:00pm with additional 2:30pm matinee performances on October 29, November 5, & November 12. General admission tickets ($30) are available for purchase now through Ticketleap at pitchmethis.com.
Ages: **The Wild Party is intended for mature audiences only. Viewer discretion is advised.
