The Shopping Night to benefit Revels Houston will run from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 25 at the shop located at 2424-A Rice Blvd. in Rice Village. Fifteen percent of sales during the evening will go to Revels Houston. The Revelry ensemble will perform songs and dances to entertain shoppers as they browse the store's variety of handmade jewelry, toys, musical instruments, and household accessories.
"We love sharing favorites from our productions with the community and the Shopping Night at Ten Thousand Villages is the perfect opportunity for song to infuse the holiday spirit into a special holiday tradition," Peggy Curtis, executive director of Revels Houston, said.In December, Revels Houston will present "The Christmas Revels: In Celebration of the Winter Solstice." Performances will draw from the songs, dance, poetry and games from the traditions of early 19th century Bavaria and the surrounding regions at Yuletide. Six performances are scheduled the weekends of December 10 and 11 and December 17 and 18. The performances will take place on the University of Houston campus at the Wortham Theater in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts.
