Obsidian Theater Explores Love in THE LAST FIVE YEARS

Obsidian Theater continues the 2018 season with the Drama Desk award winner, The Last Five Years. Jason Brown's emotionally powerful and intimate musical runs at Obsidian Theater, June 21 - July 14, 2018.

Written by Jason Robert Brown, The Last Five Years, is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, telling her story backwards while Jamie tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

Director Kelsey McMillan says. "The Last Five Years is a deeply relatable love story for anyone who has ever been in love, had a broken heart, or struggled to find themselves in another person. This outstanding cast and remarkable female led production team are bringing that story to life in a heart-rending and poignant way. Our hope is that audiences will see themselves on our stage and find comfort falling into, and ultimately, out of love right along with us."

The Last Five Years is directed by Kelsey McMillan and stage managed by Sarah Denton. Keifer Slaton (Jaime), Haley Hussey (Cathy), Eddie Edge (Ensemble) and Paige Thomas (Ensemble) make up the cast of this groundbreaking musical. Choreographer, Liz Tinder and Assistant Director, Eddie Edge round out the production team for Obsidian's fourth production of the season.

Performances of The Last Five Years are June 21 - July 14, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm. Industry Night will on Monday, June 25 at 8 pm with discounted tickets available for those who work in the industry. A special matinee performance will be held on Sunday, July 1 at 3 pm.
