SPARKLE Shines Bright At HTY
HTY continues its 2018-2019 season with a world premiere play created for our youngest audiences. Sparkle tells the story of a young boy venturing into his first social circle, making friends, standing up to a bully and discovering the glory of being unique. The poignant and humorous story models powerful lessons about believing in yourself and knowing that no one has the right to take your Sparkle away. Filed with music, puppets and a transforming tent the short production is a perfect introduction to those new to theatre and a fun piece of whimsy for those more theatrically savvy.
Sparkle is a great way for families to spend quality time together and everything about the piece is designed to be age appropriate. Artistic Director, Eric Johnson, encourages families new to HTY to take a chance on theatre, "We pride ourselves on being a family friendly venue from safe, free parking to our professional staff and performers specializing in making theatre for those in preschool and the early elementary years."
Created and directed by Annie Cusick Wood, creator of numerous tales for HTY's preschool crowd, including; OUCH!, Home, and Blue. Sparkle features HTY Company Actors Nathaniel Niemi and Christina Uyeno. Sparkle runs Saturday October 13 and 20 @ 9:30am & 11:30am. Saturday, October 20 @ 11:30am ASL Performance and HTY for Every Family Pay-What-You-Can Performance. The show is ideal for ages 3 and up. Single tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for youth (18 and under) and $15 for seniors (over 60).
