Kumu Kahua Theatre and the University of Hawaii at Manoa Theatre and Dance Department announce the winners of their 2014 playwriting contest.

- The winner of the $600 Hawaii Prize is Susan Soon He Stanton of Aiea, Hawaii for her play: Seek.

- Mike Lee of Brooklyn, New York is the winner of the $450 Pacific/Rim Prize for his play: Tiger Style.

- Kimeul DeMoville of Ewa Beach, Hawaii is the winner of the $250 Resident Prize for his play: Deaf in One Ear.

Three judges, selected by Kumu Kahua Theatre, evaluate the plays and rank them in each category; from that ranking winners are chosen. To assure anonymity, all plays are submitted under pen names.
