Dakota Stage Ltd. and Shade Tree Players are proud to bring back their Children’s Technical Theatre Program. STP is thrilled to once again be able to offer this hands-on, informative and educational session.
All students between the ages of 12 and 18 are encouraged to register for this exciting course, where they will learn the fundamentals of theatrical design, construction and implimentation. Parents are also welcome to participate in the program.
The instructor will work closely with kids of all experience levels to show them the basic steps of creating theatrical scenery, lighting and sound. They will teach children about tools, materials and safety, and walk them through the the design and build process. This session is perfect for anyone who wants to be involved in theatre but is not comfortable being on stage, for anyone who loves being on stage and wants to see what goes on behind the scenes, and for everyone in between! Skill in technical theatre that will expand creative students’ knowledge of the art form and prove useful to them through academia into the professional world.
