BREAKDOWN

ELIZA – 30-35. An architect. New to the firm. Talented, driven, and hungry to work. Knows she’s good and is frustrated that she is continually sidelined as her colleagues get to work on exciting projects. Smart and direct.

STU – 50-60. A senior partner at the firm. A man in charge, who wears his power casually and drinks his scotch neat. Likes the way things used to be – in fact doesn’t quite understand that times have changed. If he doesn’t want to work too hard any more, he feels he’s earned the right.

BEN – 40-50. An architect. Hardworking, committed to his job. Smart and observant. He treads the boundaries of power and ethics in the workplace with caution, but his desire not to rock the boat compromises him. He’s “nice,” but in order to be “good,” he’d have to risk something.

JANICE – 40-55. An architect. An optimist and a rule-follower. A woman who picks her battles and swallows her frustrations. Playing the long game in climbing the ladder of success.

WEBER – 30-35. An architect. Young and entitled. Things have been easy for him, and he expects they’ll continue to be. Likes to have a good time, a good laugh. A guy’s guy. Has a nasty streak that comes out when he’s challenged.

Setting: An architecture firm.
